About

The intention of this blog is to share my journey and insight on the organization and efficient dissemination of information relating to health, utilizing Web 2.0 technologies.  I spend a great deal of time each day online, following health news and new research, and find new ways of doing so almost daily.    Nutrition is my primary interest, but topics will include related fields also.  Thus, this blog will explore software, websites, blogs, and list tutorials when applicable.

This blog was inspired by Bertalan Meskó’s Scienceroll.com, an invaluable resource for medical professionals (also check his Webicina.com).  It is clear that the medical profession has embraced social media as evident by countless blogs, twitter and friendfeed users, wikis, and much more.  However, searching on these same networks begs the urgent question:

Why is there such a lack of participation from nutrition and other health professionals?

From my perspective, our field needs social communication more than most.  Nutrition is a fast evolving science, and we need methods of efficient continuing education.  With the new social age of the internet, collaborations and networking are key to overcoming these problems.

Who should follow?

From professionals in health fields to casual health enthusiasts.  This blog will aim to be an authority on how to find and organize accurate information.

Help!

It would be quite hypocritical to think one person can cover everything effectively and accurately.  So I am requesting help from readers; please send me tips/comments/corrections whenever possible and I will be sure to credit you.
